Movies- SALT

I got treated to dinner and a movie, by my sisters last night. We went to go see SALT starring Angelina Jolie. I actually enjoyed the movie. It had some MR. & MRS. Smith action going on in there. But Angelina did her thing. If you enjoy her acting, actions, and a little bit of politics then you will definitely dig with film.

Drive Responsibly

Unsafe Driving... - The best video clips are here

I'm always looking to support for the case. I found this video on one of my friend's facebook profiles and this is no joke. I personally have no desire to drive because the lack of responsibility some drivers don't owe up to when they get behind the wheel. I know this scene all too well. Last year I was in a horrible accident because of reckless driving, that was preventable. I was in the back in the smashed down part. I am so blessed that all our lives were spared, and I use that as motivation to follow my dreams because I know I have a purpose here. I think this might be my next project/ campaign. This is something we all can do to make the world a better and safer place, DRIVE SAFELY!!!

Coming Into My Own- Progression

As I look through my blog I notice that there is a lot of graphics, and less talk. Normally I'm all for the small talk, and commentary along with each piece but that hasn't been the case lately. For once in a long time I am doing what I always said I would do. There isn't much to say when your are showing results. My work speaks for itself. I was spent the last couple months educating myself on business, networking, and design. Come January at the launch I hope that all my hard work is evident.
I don't have all the resources I need right in my hand, or even the best plan or strategy set in stone. What I am doing is using the resources I do have, and putting them in overdrive. I have been lucky to connect with some people that are focus and driven in their given field. I learned that receiving help could be a huge asset. People always want to be apart of something. Something could be anything, but especially something that is moving in the right direction.
There is still so much work to do, and so much I would like to accomplish with this line, and this year. This line is the beginning of my movement, my entry way to progression and success. It is important that in these next few months I build a brand, a brand I can grow with and live by. This is the start of something great. All I ever wanted to do was be relevant.

So I am Living Ambitious through Meaningful Existence through my line, designs, and action.

The Ten Ten Project

What does The 1010 Project do?

The 1010 Project is a nonprofit organization that provides income-generating grants to indigenous development partners in Kenya and raises awareness in the United States on behalf of the global poor.

Our strategy is simple.

We serve to advocate for and empower the work of social entrepreneurs. A social entrepreneur is someone who recognizes a social problem and uses his or her own initiative to organize, create, and manage a venture to make positive social change.

Where does the organization’s name come from?

The 1010 Project derives its name from John 10:10, where Jesus states, “The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but I have come so that you might have life, life to the full.” The 1010 Project believes that poverty steals, kills, and destroys life all over the world, and it should be the work of people of faith to alleviate global poverty. The 1010 Project is not registered as a religious organization, nor does it restrict its aid and/or personnel to those of a specific creed. That being said, it is a faith-motivated organization, made up of some people who are putting their faith into action by serving alongside the poor. The 1010 Project is a humanitarian and advocacy organization.

Why were we created?

Specifically, this nonprofit organization is formed to:

Research specific impoverished regions through engagement with those living in poverty, network with other organizations committed to alleviating poverty, and explore micro-development strategies;
Educate those in affluent countries on the issues impoverished peoples face through communicating their needs, providing educational resources, and motivating groups and individuals to take action;
Connect the needs of impoverished regions with the resources of potential donors by partnering with existing projects, initiating new projects, and creating opportunities for donors to engage personally;
Solicit financial support and other forms of involvement from individuals and groups in the United States and abroad who support our mission;
Maintain an attitude of service in the research, development, and implementation of any projects.
What are our values?

Poverty Matters

We believe that the poverty of our global neighbors should be on our hearts and minds as we go about daily life. Because our choices have the power to both negatively and positively impact others around the planet, we must be proactive in addressing global poverty.

Relationship Matters

It is neither adequate nor effective enough to simply deliver aid; entering into a relationship with those we are serving and those who serve us is imperative. These relationships allow us to see that the delivery of aid and assistance is a reciprocal act. There is much we have to learn and understand from our global neighbors. In as such, we are intentional about investing the time, energy, and overall effort in building friendships across borders and cultures.

Justice Matters

The existence of poverty on a globe of plenty runs counter to our notions of justice. That much of the world’s resources are consumed by a few while the rest of the world struggles for daily survival is an injustice that can and must be corrected. Poverty is a human rights issue because adequate food, clean water, shelter, health care, education, and employment are all attainable for every member of humanity.

Community Matters

Never before have communities been able to connect globally with one another with such ease and efficiency. Globalization and communication technologies have created a world of unprecedented interconnectedness and interdependence. However, the global poor remain marginalized and are not recipients of the benefits that globalization and global economic growth afford.

MTV's Hottest Breakthrough MC Vote

They have a few good choices on this list. Remember is you vote factor in all the factors. I don't even know who I am voting for, for real. Decisions, Decisions!!

Webb & Wholley To Attend First-Ever White House Reception For LGBT Pride Month

WHAT: Kevin Webb & Jeshawna Wholley, students of both Morehouse & Spelman College, have been summoned by request of the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, via The Human Rights Campaign to attend the first-ever reception at the White House in celebration of LGBT Pride Month (Washington, DC, June 22, 2010).

WHO: Kevin Webb & Jeshawna Wholley share numerous titles: Black, Openly Queer, Members of the Atlanta University Center, Human Rights Activists, and Event Coordinators; however, the most important one that they happen to have in common is the fact that they are both decent human beings. Furthermore, they have used that trait as the driving force behind the work that they have done at both Morehouse College & Spelman College. As the Cooperative President of Morehouse College Safe Space, along side his Morehouse Brother and Fellow Cooperative President Daniel D. Edwards, Kevin Webb has been on the frontline of the LGBTQ Movement at Morehouse College for the past year. As the President of Afrekete, the LGBT Organization at Spelman College, Jeshawna Wholley has dedicated the last year of her life toward fighting LGBT injustices and rallying support for Womanist Causes. Through both events and countless interviews with National Publications and Radio Programs, Webb and Edwards, along with the invaluable help of Wholley, directly challenged the "Appropriate Attire Policy" at Morehouse College-- a policy that serves to discriminate against the LGBTQ community at the institution.

On November 6th, 2009, Wholley made history as the Creator of "WERK": The Appropriate Attire Drag/Fashion Show, the Grand Finale of the first-ever Pride Week At Spelman College-- a week of significant cultural events and a first for the institution. "WERK" was the first Drag Show to ever take place at an HBCU and was heavily attended.

And in March of 2010, Webb made history, as a Co-Creator of P.R.I.D.E. Week at Morehouse College-- a historical first for the institution. The week was remarkably successful and boasted the controversial "Out & In The Spotlight: Panel Discussion" featuring the Androgynous Media Maven, himself, B. Scott. The event, which took place on March 23rd, 2010, drew more than 500 attendees: including the President of Morehouse College, Robert Franklin.

Since then, Webb and Wholley have served as featured guests on "Power Talk with Lorraine Jacques-White" the top-rated Atlanta Morning Radio Show on 1380 AM. They have also done a number of in-depth interviews through StoryCorps that air on National Public Radio and will land in both the Library of Congress and the newly-constructed African-American Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D.C.

WHERE: The White House (1600 Pennsylvania Avenue N.W. Washington, D.C. 20500)

WHEN: Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010; 5:00 pm (Eastern Standard Time)

WHY:
"LGBT Americans have enriched and strengthened the fabric of our national life. From business leaders and professors to athletes and first responders, LGBT individuals have achieved success and prominence in every discipline. They are our mothers and fathers, our sons and daughters, and our friends and neighbors. Across my Administration, openly LGBT employees are serving at every level. Thanks to those who came before us the brave men and women who marched, stood up to injustice, and brought change through acts of compassion or defiance we have made enormous progress and continue to strive for a more perfect union.

Much work remains to fulfill our Nation's promise of equal justice under law for LGBT Americans. That is why we must give committed gay couples the same rights and responsibilities afforded to any married couple, and repeal the Defense of Marriage Act. We must protect the rights of LGBT families by securing their adoption rights, ending employment discrimination against LGBT Americans, and ensuring Federal employees receive equal benefits. We must create safer schools so all our children may learn in a supportive environment. I am also committed to ending "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" so patriotic LGBT Americans can serve openly in our military, and I am working with the Congress and our military leadership to accomplish that goal.

As we honor the LGBT Americans who have given so much to our Nation, let us remember that if one of us is unable to realize full equality, we all fall short of our founding principles. Our Nation draws its strength from our diversity, with each of us contributing to the greater whole. By affirming these rights and values, each American benefits from the further advancement of liberty and justice for all.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 2010 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month. I call upon all Americans to observe this month by fighting prejudice and discrimination in their own lives and everywhere it exists.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twenty-eighth day of May, in the year of our Lord two thousand ten, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-fourth."
 -BARACK OBAMA
